Was Transgender Awareness part of your medical training?

According to the “LGBT in Britain, Trans Report” 2018 by Stonewall and YouGov:

One in four (24 per cent) fear discrimination from a healthcare service provider and the same percentage of trans people, 24 per cent, don’t know how to access the form of medical intervention they want.

Transgender Awareness Training is still not prevalent for medical students in the UK. This has major consequences for people seeking medical care and advice who are Transgender or questioning their gender identity.

Aces Speaking offers Transgender Awareness Training for medical and social care students. The 60 minute session examines topics such as gender identities and essential information about terminology, legislation and transitioning.
