How much do your Personal Care Assistants know about Pride?

If the Personal Care Assistants working with you are not part of the LGBTQI+ community, they may not be aware about the significance of Pride. If Pride season is important to you, you may consider sharing the following information:

During the month of June, there are LGBTQI+ pride festivals and events across the world. Pride marks the anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which began outside the Stonewall Inn, Greenwich Village, New York City in late June 1969. Activists of Stonewall include Marsha P Johnson and Sylvia Rivera.

LGBTQI+ people still face unacceptable stigma and discrimination. We continue to see homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the media and on social media. Stonewall, (now a name of a LGBTQI+ charity) estimate over 80% of hate crimes and hate incidents against LGBTQI+ people go unreported.

For the LGBTQI+ community, Pride month is about teaching tolerance and awareness about our history and continuing to strive for equality.

Aces Consulting, can create training for your Personal Care Assistants tailored around your care needs and diversities. If Pride season is important to you, let it be part of your assistants bespoke training.
